Google has just unveiled the first headset for its Daydream VR platform: Daydream View. It's a lightweight headset that's meant to be used with any Daydream-compatible phone — and in particular, the new Pixel, which is the first phone to support the platform.
Daydream is Google's next step past Cardboard, the disposable VR headset it announced in 2014. The platform is included in Android Nougat, but will only be available on phones that meet certain specs, to be released over the coming months. Daydream will tie in with the rest of the Android ecosystem, but run a unique set of apps using its custom motion controller.
